growing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.
in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.
thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.
I knew some. Way different than any now, sincere in their belief AND humility.
Late comers were pompous asses, got together with other "annointed" to talk about their hope and insight in unauthorized meetings. Some actively recruited others for heaven. Every one questioned their sanity. One stated that if they partook unworthily they would just fall back to earthly class; so i guess we all should have a drink and cracker. LOL
i remember when stores would advertise that santa claus would be there from 2-4 pm on a saturday or something for several weeks before christmas.
you would see them everywhere.. do they still exist in your area?.
maybe parents finally realized that having a drunk guy with a white beard getting his jollies off with young children on his lap was not a good idea.. just my thoughts.

probably one of the most common causes of cognitive dissonance many jws face is the choice to plan for retirement.
if you're a good jw, then you should believe that the end will be coming soon, surely before you retire.
that's what i did when i was younger, blowing decades that could've been better spent because i believed the end was coming, so any planning was a waste of time.
That money you would never see would just be thrown in the street, so who cares.

i was reading today that the last star wars movie will be playing next week.
doing a little searching, i found that there have been 12 movies in the saga total, ( box office, total (12 films): $9.323 billion.)..
it got me thinking about when the empire strikes back came out, it was the second movie ( 1980).

That divorce thing. Separation is the recommended course for spiritual endangerment. Usually encourage adultery. The elders support and advice depends on how hot your wife is and if any of them think they are in a position to make a move.
2020 the society will continue to have financial problems with massive pay outs because of their lack of protecting their young people from a religion that harbors thousands of pedophiles.

according today's watchtower, all the remaining ones of the anointed ones will be in heaven when the great tribulation breaks to join jesus in the battle against evil.
the watchtower was making the point that at that time god's organization will be ran by members of the 'other sheep'.
it didn't say how these remaining ones find themselves in heaven, but presumably they will be taken, i.e.
